Structure and committees
Forum Palm Oil (FONAP) is a registered association. It currently comprises around 50 members – private companies, non-governmental organisations, associations, as well as the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Home Affairs (BMLEH) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The Forum’s activities are coordinated and steered by the General Assembly and the Executive Board. The current Board has been in office since the General Assembly in April 2024. It is composed of representatives of Wild Asia (Dr. Reza Azmi), Ferrero (Almut Feller), True Assets (Sascha Tischer), OVID (Dr. Ulrich Hettinger), BM Certification (Armin Hodzic), BMLEH and BMZ.
All of the Forum’s activities are decided by the members. Working groups of volunteer representatives of the members support FONAP’s work and advise the Board. There are currently three working groups on the topics of “Agroforestry, resilient landscapes and human rights”, “European network and intercontinental dialogue” and “Derivatives and technical issues”. In addition, members come together in task forces as needed.
The Global Nature Fund in Bonn (GNF) is commissioned by FONAP to organise the secretariat.
